Her Story.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, I was initially raised in Miami until my family relocated to San Diego, where my parents have resided for over 30 years. I immediately took to my first yoga class, which I recall taking at a gym in Hollywood, circa 2007. In the five years following I became much more consistent and dedicated with my practice, but it wasn't until even several years post that, that I realized the potential of Yoga beyond the physical benefits. In 2013 I made a conscientious decision to leave my then career to pursue an RYT certification.

After a decade in New York, I started longing to be closer to my family back in California. Ultimately I spent a good dozen years on the East Coast, six of which were dedicated to the NY yoga community. Thousands of classes held indoor and out, and four retreats later, I found my way back to the West Coast in the fall of 2020.

Wherever I reside, I am in constant pursuit of personal growth and unadulterated happiness. When not on or near a mat, I'm likely getting an adrenaline fix, admittedly a recovering SoulCycle/ Barry’s/HIIT junkie-turned-hiker/outdoor biker/fledgling surfer.

While I miss the cultural (I love live music performances) and culinary choices of NYC, I now revel in the sweet simplicity of SD sunsets, hanging with my four-legged loves at the beach, and homemade dinners with family. Wherever I live, I will always strive to live with purpose and practice in earnest.—Ms. Loren Yandoc
